Aratta Studios, Alpha Preview: Dialogue

This is an alpha conversation with your father over the phone. It's to show the basic relation you have with your father and stepmother.

This dialogue can will contain grammar and spelling errors as it isn't checked yet.



Info:
-Kazuki: Is the main character and the story is told through his perspective.
-Dad and set mother: No explaining needed.
-Text only is narration.
-Text between "" is thoughts of main character.



You call your parents because your Dad told you to keep in contact. You don't really like it but it beats being called and scowled at.

Dad: Oh hey son, why the call?

Kazuki: Well, you told me to call so…

Dad: Ah yeah stepmother told me to tell you that you should call us regally.

Dad: You don't have to if your doing it for my sake.

"Glad he's worried about me."

You can hear your stepmother on the background.

Step Mom: Is that Kazuki? Ask him if he's already feeling a bit at home.

Dad: We're doing fine over here son, it's nice to be ride of you as now we can just have sex whenever we…

BAM!

Step Mom: T-That's not appropriated to tell your own son.

"I really REALLY want to forget the image I just got in my mind."

Dad: Right right. Hehe.

"I think I'm going to be sick."

Dad: So did you get into any trouble?

Kazuki: Don't worry I'm not about to blow my second chance.

Dad: Good. Well than, to the important matters…

Kazuki: And those are?

Dad: Are there any cute girls at your new school?

"Dad was always good at setting priorities"

"Sadly I wasn't usually that high on his list."

Step Mom: You want to get hit again?

Dad: I'm just trying to make a conversation with my idiot son.

Kazuki: I can hear you, you know."

Dad: Yeah I know… well are there any?

You let out a heavy sigh.

Kazuki: I guess you could say there are.

Dad: There are!? Good, good.  

"Although most are a bit… weird."

Dad: Not that it's any use to you, I mean your not really a handsome fellow are you.

Dad: Not to mention that attitude of yours.

Kazuki: Must run in the family.

Dad: What did you just say my dear son!?

Kazuki: That I've inherited certain genetic traits from my father.

Dad: It sure aren't my looks, that's for sure.

Kazuki: Yeah I know, it really is a blessing.

Dad: Your lucky you aren't living at home anymore.

Kazuki: I am lucky aren't I?

Kazuki: It saves me the trouble of seeing an ugly face every day.

Dad: Why? Don't they have mirrors at your dorm?

Kazuki: Luckily they have, wouldn't want to miss that handsome reflection of mine.

Dad: I know the feeling son, I'll send you some pictures of me so you have something to cover up that mirror of yours.

Kazuki: Please refrain from doing so, I don't like throwing up every time I walk into a room.

Dad: Yeah I know the feeling, but you get used to it over time.

Dad: I mean I barely throw up anymore when I see your face.

Step mother: Would you cut it out already?

Step mother: This isn't how a healthy relation ship between a father and a son should be.

"I always love these talks with my dad, they make me feel loved."

Dad: Oh right, about your stepsister.

Dad: Do take care of her, you're her brother so act like it.

Kazuki: Don't worry I will.

"Although she's the one who helped me out so far."

Dad: Good and do have a good time at your new school as we sure have a good time over here.

"No! Not that image again! I really need to cut this conversation short."

Kazuki: Dad I got to go now. I'll call you later, okay?

Dad: Right, son.

Dad: Don't miss us to much, as you'll be crawling back crying and I wouldn't want that.

Dad: Not after I finally got ride of you after 17 long years.

Kazuki: I love you do Dad, say hi to your wife for me.

A silent falls from the other side for a moment switch takes me by surprise.  

Dad: Hey son…

Kazuki: Hm?

Dad: It's been three months already, isn't it time to start calling her mom?

Step Mom: Don't worry about it honey, I'm happy as long as he doesn't dislike me and looks out for Mana.

Step Mom: I don't ask for more.

You hear your dad sigh.

Dad: fine, I'm just saying.

Dad: Take care son.

Kazuki: Yeah I will.

Dad: Don't be to eager to call again, I don't want you to interrupt certain activities over he-

{Screen shake}
BAM!

Dad: Argh… Bye son, say hi to Mana for us.

Kazuki: I will, Bye Dad.

{Phone image gone and show room only}

"Well that was…{pause 0.5} interesting."

"It my have been one of the most disturbing phone calls I had in awhile but it sure brings back memories."

"Ah sweet old nostalgia, my dad and I always end up having these kind of nice chats."

"I guess it's pretty disturbing but it has always been like this."

"Well now better hit the shower to try to cleanse my body and soul of the impure images from this phone call."

"Might as well throw up while I'm at it."
